Until recently, the data from the Headcorn Weather Server was streamed through a mainstream internet provider on a Business Broadband Service given the high bandwidth required to provide the services hosted here. This proved to be both expensive and recently very unreliable with poor latency and poor speeds despite an excellent exchange connection. Upon advice, I switched provider to freedom2surf and have not looked back!
If you’re in the UK, are unhappy with your broadband service and are looking for a more reliable cost effective solution, you should certainly consider them.
I enclose details of speed tests taken from the service here where I consistently achieve downstream bandwidth >6meg peak and off-peak! My router synchronises at 8128 kbps downstream and 832 upstream and the line has an IP profile of 7150. In order to receive similar performance you will need a similar IP profile which can be confirmed using the BT SpeedTest facility. Note: These upstream speeds are only supported on f2s Pro or Premium Services.
ADSL2+ upto 24meg broadband is also offered where available on the Pro and Premium packages.
In order to sign-up you’ll need to provide a Migration (MAC) code obtained from your existing internet provider. Whilst you can of course enquire and sign-up direct, by providing your contact email using the form below I will refer you and in so doing you are helping support the running of this Weather Station. There is no obligation and you will simply receive an email allowing you to enquire and sign-up if you so choose.
Your support as always is gratefully appreciated.
